yea, and chances are, if you do find a machine shop that's willing to do it, they will probably charge you some outrageous amount to do such an uncommon job. it will be alot easier to buy GT performance heads, and find a shop to give you a good deal on putting them in.

But why go to all that trouble to machine out the heads when you can buy aluminum heads for a GT? Couln't be that big a difference in price.</p>
2v aluminum heads......vs. 4 valve heads. I'll take the 4 valves, even if they are steel. They breath so much better and will make so much more power.

Not really. It's just a matter of putting a cutter in on an angle and moving the piston up, so I don't think it would be that costly.

to be honest with you guys i am laughing out loud. There are differnt gears. Independent suspension(the cobra has independent rear suspension cool for handling but not so great for drag racing, the solid axle is better for that). The only thing I would really check is the valvle reliefs on the pistons. I dont think they are true flat tops and i dont know if they use the pistons in both engines. so it probably would not just swap over with out changing the bottom end. If I had the money i would just buy the engine out right and do it once. about every thing with the drive train is differnt. Even the brakes. about the only similarity is the chasis which is even a little difernt if you account for bigger sway bars and such.

Jeep you must remember....most shops don't mind sticking it to ya with the bill if they can get away with it. but with a lil patience and shopping im sure a good deal can be found.

All 4.6 two and four valve heads are aluminum. The 03 cobra block is also aluminum.

Bzzzzzzzzzzz! Wrong...The 03 Cobra block is iron, NOT aluminum. And dont forget about the aluminum flywheel and driveshaft.</P>

supercharged aluminum block = weak and less potential for holding up to power increases.

at least i would think that durability is why ford chose to use an iron block.

I wish it was as noble as that but the cast iron was just a cheaper alternative to aluminum.Strength was a secondary reason and a great excuse touse cheaper iron. Aluminum should be able to hold up to the HP levels since many pro builders use them but they would have raised the price of the 03 Cobra above the $40K mark.</P>

Other stock upgrades worth noting are the Manley beams and the forged pistons...i.e. built bottom end!</P><edited><editID>Pyrro</editID><editDate>37846.6950462963</editDate></edited>
