How difficult is it to replace the studs in the axles? Just use a hydrualic press to press them out and in? Does the ABS sensor just slip off, so it doesnt get in the way?
I can't remember exactly. I am pretty sure that you will have to remove the ABS sensor. I will have to check when I get home, but I know you are talented enough to figureit out on your own!

It was a PAIN! I pounded the old studs out with the axles in the car, than I took the axles out and installed the new ones. I did not take the ABS sensor off, but the studs will just wedge in there with a little tap with a hammer. Then I got a punch and a hammer and drove them home. Oh, and on my studs I ground a tiny bit of the nurls down so they would pound in a little easier cause at first they would not go in at all....

lol... doesnt sound good to pound out the studs with the axles in your rear end... I hope your bearings are ok.. Im going to use a hydraulic press so im sure it will be easier for me. Im just going to have to get creative so it cleanly presses one at a time. The reason im asking is because I have a cheap haynes repair manual and it doesnt cover anything about changing studs or taking the ABS off. Also thanks for that thunderracing.com link. I deffinitly prefur those baer spacers.

Question. What lug nuts do you use now? Are you using the caped ones or the through bolt ones? And if your using the through bolt ones how far is the stud sticking past?

Im not too worried about the bearings cause I have a whole rebuild kit for the rearend thats goin in it when I get my gears changed. As for the lugs, I bought the ones from american muscle that look like a big allen bolt. The pattern is on the inside of the lug. I currently had to take them off the back till i trim up the studs a little...
