Hahah note to self : BUY A PUTTY KNIFE OR RAZOR BLADE. Scraping little tiny microscopic pieces of RTV off with your FINGERNAILS is no fun at all., while at the same time trying not to let those tiny pieces fall into the tranny. Brake parts cleaner is a good idea, unfortunately i didn't think of it before and at 10pm there are no places open that sell it.

Oh well, on to the new shifter! Going to reseal it w/ the RTV given, put the MGW inner dust boot over the stocker and slap that baby on.
Why didn't you buy CobraBob's shifter gasket? So much more cleaner than that gunk they give you. Plus easier to work with if you ever have to take your shifter off again. You can get it for like $5-$6.

I didn't notice Cobrabob anything on the MGW website. I thought the kit gave you everything I needed. [:@] Yeah RTV is nasty stuff. I hate it now.

The shifter looks incredible. Okay I COMPLETELY REMOVED the shift stops on the shifter and I'm ready to put it into the transmission. Question, should I put that little black cap on the ball of the shifter? (on the bottom?) and secure it on like it was on my previous shifter? Instructions doesn't say anything there.

i did cobrabobs gasket and man was it alot easier than messing with that goo

good thing i work at a grochery store and i always have a box cutter in my pocket, im serious. so scraping that crap off the shifter was easy for me. also i was ready to wage war getting the shifter off, but it came off the first try, it startled me. now get the damn thing on!

Okay I got the MGW on my tranny and just bolted down the 4 bolts. Now I am going to try to put the MGW inner dust boot on my stock boot. Can't deicde whether to cut out the outer ring of the stocker THEN put the MGW boot on, or just put the MGW boot on. Hmmm
