Default Well thought I blew my engine.

Halfway down the track, 5500 rpms in 2nd gear... car just dies. Didnt hear anything, but tried to turn it back on it would sputter and was pooring black smoke.

After an hour of debating what to do, i finally found that the one of the intake tubes just completely seperated.

When i found that out I was almost dissapointed hahaha.... I was already to get a new shortblock ported heads and cams. I was just about going to put $6k into a CD, so I have the money, but my better half tells me to save it. Oh well, now i dont have a reason; i'm still going to save the money.

I know that feeling. Knowing it's not blown is a BIG relief! Lol.

BTW, definitely save that money. Whether you put it into a CD or different account, it will still benefit you more in the long run if you save it. But I'm sure you know that.

Haha.. at first I was like, oh ****! Then after I had about an hour of thinking about it (knowing the money issue wasnt a huge deal), thinking about what I was going to buy and do.... finding out it was just an intake tube, it was partially a let down, but relief in the same way. Definatly a really weird feeling.

Yea, I know that feeling! Had the same thing happen to me one time. Shortly after that mine started blowing the spark out because the plugs were half azz fouled out from running so rich so you might want to go ahead and change them just to be safe.
