Default A question about redlining

Does the mustang have a rev limiter cut out? I have seen rev limiteron my Predator. My car if redlined it will like bog down or like cut out, is that the rev limiter or what? It has done it since it was new so I don'tthink its the car. Foryou all the predators what did you set yours at?

I guess the speed limiter is the rev limiter? My car never shut down at high speed even bone stock??????????? is it only for certain years...my car did always have a rev limiter, it never shut down just bounced around the rpm right at it not allowing it to climb above it.

Our cars start dropping off power at like 5200-5500 RPMs.. thaty's probably why your feeling a loss of power.

The stock rev-limiter for all 4.6L 2V is (AFAIK) aet at 6500 RPM, and it does cut fuel delivery, and cause the engine to "bounce" up to 6500 and then down a bit repeatedly.I have been told (by a former SVO team member) that some models havea speed limit set in the PCM if they were delivered with something other than Z or betterrated tires--I have not experienced this, however I have absolutely no reason to doubt this fellow's expertise in this... BTW, my '03 would drop-off above 5500 RPM or so, however after installing the X-pipe and Magnaflows, Pro Products 70 mm TB & plenum, and flashing a tweaked 91 octane tune (tweaked to take advantage of the 93 fuel available here) it will pull strongly right up to the limiter--this shocked the heck of me when I hit it in 3rd gear one day (at 110.3 MPH per my GPS).

I know these stats have to be with the manuals. Because the times of manually shifted my auto, and if I dont shift from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to D a few thousand RPM's before the redline of like 5750, than the car will bog.

You don't think the factory set it on the "safe side"? I mean they do warranty the engine for 3years/36k miles...
