my dad put a K&N in his SRT-8 300C and he gained 2 tenths and 4MPH so they def do something

But at what cost?
What if he ran with no air filter?

I know this is a troll but she does make some valid points and if you look at the bobs oil guy site there is a ton of info over there about filters and believe me these guys are crazy!
They send in samples of oil etc for analysis and so forth and the general gist of the board is K&N is not worth it.
They also hate Fram, but of course we all do.
However I have a 92 Caprice that is now approaching 500,000 miles on original engine and tranny and has had it's share of Fram filters.
The eggheads with their oil analysis can argue all day long with me if they want.
I sold a 1987 T-bird with almost 200k on it and it had it's share of Fram filters as well.
Does Fram suck?
According to the people taking them apart they do.
According to my cars they seem to work.
Do I use Fram in my stang?
Hell no!
Mobil or Motorcraft Racing or Wix for me.
But I still can't argue with MY experience with Fram.

For me, a DD, 2/10th of a second when I race someone is not worth all the crap that might get into my motor the other 99 percent of the time when I am just cruising around.
The MAF system is VERY sensitive and any contamination will cause driveabilty issues 100 percent of the time.

For *me* it's just not worth it.

I use paper.

So besides the paper filter or the K&N what other options do we have? I feel like the paper is ghetto

I want proof besides another forum. Where are the articles in a paper or magazine or another website (MSN, YAHOO, etc..(that's not forum related)). You shouldn't just come in here and b*tch about a product, and can't back it up. What independent labs are you talking about, etc?Don't write checks you can't cash!!!

I still have this if my filter fails...lol

Yeah.....right!!! I think I will take mine off and throw a little more oil on there because I have a Ram Air set-up and that def. brings in all the dust! Heck maybe I'll soak the damn thing in oil overnight and serve it up like fries straight in the air box...lol[sm=icon_rock.gif]
