Default pi swap what gas

what gas will i need to run in my 98 gt after i do the complete pi swap. also will i have to get a tune and if i do what kind. im just taking it to a local garage. and with higher compresion what will my car be like

first off your car will be a hell of a lot faster. You shouldn't have to run different gas unless you get it tuned to run a higher octane. What other mods do you have? If you are full bolt-on and pi swapped then it is definately time to get your car tuned.

the only mods i have is flow 40's and 3.90s then i should get my pi stuff this week. i have just heard so many things on this topic i really dont no. people told me i would have to run 93 and i would have to get a tune but should i be alright with what i got

you dont need a tune actually the 96-98 computers are way better than the 99 and up

You're going to have to run higher octane gas. I would go with 91+. The reason for this is because of the higher compression. If you stick with the lower octane, you will most likely be fighting detonation. It was be wise to get a tune, but I've heard of people that do the PI swap with just stock heads(not ported) and stock PI cams...can get away without a tune.

PI motors only need 87, but you couldhave it tuned for 91 or 93 and grab a few extra ponies.

PI motors on 99+ have lower compression than a PI swap 96-98.
