Yes the intake will add up to 30hp on a f/i application. Now for those of you that cant understand why only doing the intake swap.......the reason is simple. The majority of the loss is in the intake not the heads yes the head are a restriction but not nearly enough to justify pulling them and spending the extra money when the intake will get you close to equivilent pi power alone. Still not as high as a pi but close enough to say the hell with pulling the heads. I have easily maxed out the power level of the factory short block myself and I am still on factory non pi heads. So thats a good example......if I had swapped to pi heads as well It would have been a ton of work that was not needed when I already maxed out the strength level of the stock internals. Later when I go forged I will either swap to pi or SVO D46 heads.

Oh one more thing the non pi heads will allow the use of much bigger cams. I used the 268H cams and damn......I cant explain the diff with the cams and intake as I was lucky enough to feel the difference both N/A and then after my Turbo install.

i absolutely agree with you yoteehunter. 90% of non pi guys feel they have to swap their heads to make godly power...which is not true. Yes there is some restriction, and whenever this topic comes up guys will agree/disagree. But simply swapping the intake/cams without even touching your heads along with a power adder will easily max out your motor. Next up, Livernois PI intake swap!!

well the first question you should ask yourself is what are you goals with the car? Are you going to eventually want a power adder??? If you do, then i would say wait on the heads....if you plan to stay n/a definately get some p/p PI heads

i agree with ya there...only thing you should probably remember is that if you do do a Port and Polish PI heads, intake, fairly aggresive cams...you wont be able to go too big of a shot, you won't have much room to play with before you max out the motor!! Maybe a 75 shot?
