[align=left]Check your maf sensor (carefully), then check for leaks in you vacuum lines and intake (cai, upper, lower and any connector). If it isn't one of those then check your fuel pressure, plugs, coils and wires. Then compression. Usually a faulty sensor will throw a code.

i still think it's your valve springs. when the engine is spinning at low rpm's the valve springs do their job so i don't think a compression check would do any good. when the engine is revved up higher, the valves are opening and closing so fast that the springs don't retract fast enough leaving the valvesopen too long. just my opinion

If that were the case wouldent there be potential for valve to piston contact, resulting in a bent valve? Or am i way off base.. But the issue your having to me still does not sound like bad valve springs shurely something else would go bad b4 a valve spring.

Do a compression test and go from there.. i think the number your looking for is 160?

oh yea i forgot about that

isn't compression the same whether it's idling or at wot? he said that under 3500rpm the car runs fine and runs ****ty after that. if compression was bad wouldn't it run bad during all rpm ranges? idk what else it could be[:@]

What about a fuel problem? Like a bad fuel pressure regulator or something. It started to do it when I used the cheap *** gas from on-post. (Ft. Knox) I forgot about that part lol... I filled up my tank with that stuff cuz it was cheap, but now I'm starting to believe it's cheap for a reason. I put an octane booster in there so that hopefully the fuel burns all the way. During lunch I'm gonna take it out to see if that fixes it.

Would the check engine light come on if it was the fuel pressure regulator?

Yes. Only thing is that you usually have to drive it for a while, might take a while for the light to come on.
Thanks for that link, very useful.

I think possibly your cats may be getting clogged, this would cause this to happen after the car warms up
