Default A couple of Drag Questions.

I was at the strip friday night, and i finally beat my friends 2003 Gt. I ran a 9.23 @ 77 with a horrible reaction time. What do you guys run in an 1/8th mile? When do you guys shift(RPMS)? I also want to know what weight oil u guys run. Is synthetic oil really worth it? I need a website for serious mustang mods. Thanks

Best of 7.70 @ 93, I shift at redline, 5w30 Mobile 1 synthetic (I'd run 5w20 but the Vortech likes the 30w stuff) What kinda mods you after?

My best without tires, control arms or 4.10's is 8.7 if I remember correctly. I shift from first to second at redline... second to third at redline and into fourth at or about 5300-5500.

I run 5W20 in my ride and you see the mods below. I just had the Nitto 555R Drag Radials put on the back Friday and the upper and lower control arms and 4.10's are going in this Monday!!!

try and stick to one topic for each post... a PI swap is for the 96-98 mustang which have very weak stock heads. the 99+ mustangs have, what Ford called PI heads which are Power Improved heads. The mustangs make about 40 hp more than a 96-98 fomr the heads alone and when the heads are taken off the 99+ and put on the 96-98 there is a hp gain of atleast 50 hp. You basically just buy the heads off of a new mustang and of course all the gaskets and such, then you will need a PI Intake and after that you have 50hp. The total swap will run you about 1500 bucks or so. but you have a 99 so you dont have to worry about it.

Dude... calm down. He was asking about drag racing and said he had a FEW questions. No biggy.

The PI heads just flow a lot better than the regulad heads. Better airflow the better the performance.
