What does exhaust leak sound like ?

What does exhaust leak sound like ?
I just got my LT headers on and got the car back on Thursday. I have a Catted midpipe too. Everything was fine, until today. Now the "Service Engine Soon" light comes on and stays on. Also, I think i might be smelling a bit more gas than I was at first. How would I know if I have an exhaust leak, or if it's something else completely ?

mine sounded like a ticking, that i thought was coming from the engine. this was no quiet tick either....very noticalbe, im pretty sure the cars next to me could hear it as well. i pulled into a local muffler shop, slipped them a 10$ bill....they put it on a lift....got out the stethascope...found the leak...and fixed it.

if its a leak you can find it easily.
make sure the car is cooled off before you do this.
put the car on some jackstands so you can get under the car.
start the car, get under it, and put your hand by the exhaust parts where their bolted up.
usually you can easily feel a leak. thats probably the best way to find out exactly where the leak is coming from. if there is one, tighten the bolts a little more and see if that stops it.
make sure the car is cooled off before you do this.

you could simply look for black soot around all the joints or other potential leak spots. a leak will sound like a ball bearing is rattling around in your exhaust pipes.
