Dealers are idiots, hahhahaa, customers are idiots, both statements true in some cases untrue in others...

I'm a dealer, make six figures, have a house, Mustang paid for, bike paid for, but hey we're idiots in big houses...

A dealer can ask whatever he wants for a car, more likely then not if he's asking $10K, he'll take a reasonable offer or oh my gosh, maybe NOT...

So let's say they traded it for $4500, 100K, it's going to need a safety check which will probably run $1000 and if it needs tires another $700, so now the dealer is into the car for a cost of $5500-$6200, lets use the lower # of $5500, now they need to advertise it, pay a salesman to sell it and heavens-gee-golly make a profit...Why you ask? What if the person buys it and blows the tranny in two weeks, who's on the hook for that? The dealer...Must pay technicians, advertising budget, salesmen, sales mgr's, billing department...but hey take it in on trade for $4500 and sell for $5500 that's going to work out well...

ORIGINAL: RC5522

Screw that 100k miles for 10,000.
Dealers are idiots and dudes right .They probably got that ride for 4500.00 to 5k or so.

Hahhahaa $7000 for a Mustang that they are asking $10000...good luck...

It doesn't matter if you are paying cash, the dealer would rather you finance (profit). When you finance, the dealer gets "funded on the contract" in about a week...not a big deal whatsoever...

ORIGINAL: 2002GTAUTOVERT

since youre paying in cash, the dealer will be getting his commission quickly. so sit down and say "im going to write you a check for the full amount, if you give it to me for $,$$$" id say give him 7000 for it
