i have been told that the wires can lose connectivity to the plugs and that can cause mis-fires but i don't know if that's true. If you are changing your plugs though you should just change the wires too

I routinely get 20 mpg with a mix of freeway and highway. With 4.10s im up to around 25mpg in town becuase i can shift into 5th starting at around 40mph. On my last trip to LA i got over 320 miles from the tank with a tad under a gallon left when i filled up, so if i had to guess id say you had a bad 02 sensor, a crappy tune, or a heavy foot.

If you're trying to stretch mileage with a manual, keep the RPMs at or under 2000rpm. Atleast thats my trick. Now with the 4.10s just installed its a little harder, but I find it way easier to skip gears just peddling around town.. 1-3-5 is nice.
