Default Cams ?? Need some help

I would like to get cams sometime but am unsure about alot of it. For the most part I want a stage 2 or 3 cam that will require a computer upgrade how do you do that?? Custom tune or what, because i will put the cams in myself w/ a some friends?? Also do you need new springs and retainers and all that stuff to?? If someone could give me the rundown that would be cool.

Dont bother with the cams unless you have the money to upgrade the heads, springs ect.....

with your mods, you do not want a stage 3.. and a stage 2 is pushing it but yes you can do it... i would say to get a stage 2 VTs or comp 270 cams... i perfer the VT myself. a stage 3 cam will not make power where you want it and wont even make it till 3500rpms... and wont stop making it till 7k+. if you had a forged bottom end that was perfect for revving, i would say do the stage 2 or 3. but since your more of a stock setup, i would reccomend the stage 1 or 2 cams... if you decide to go stage 2, you will need new valve springs... i did not run valve springs on my car, but that is the risk i took, and i now have manley valve springs.

it really depends on the tune your car is given and how good the tuner is... but on average, i would say the car will gain 20hp. maybe up to 25 with stage 2's

yea, just make sure you go to a good mustang tuning shop and your good to go... btw, changing valve springs on the car is a bitch. right now i am installing springs, retainers, and cams in a car for someone and i have found a burnt valve that i am also going to have to replace (fun fun)... there goes another day having to pull the head and replace a valve. i say put a weekend away atleast for this job as the valves will take forever unless you buy the 100 dollar tool from ford for it.

its kinda nice doing work on the side on cars, having a job, while being in high school.. kinda pays for the car stuff.
