For all you guys in NJ, do any of you know whether or not they do the sniffer test for inspection anymore? My car is due next month and I currently have an O/R pipe. I was think that if they didnt, I could just get a pair of MILs and plug em in to turn the CEL off and pray they dont look under the car.

If you go to the state, you fail no matter what with an o/r H because they will look underneath. If you go to a private garage and your car is OBD II (94 and later I believe), I am 97% sure that they just plug your car into the computer. As long as you aren't throwing a CEL, you're fine. I was told that by a friend of mine who does state inspections at a private garage.

I got pulled over as soon as I crossed the Deleware Memorial Bridge going into Jersey because of "noise pollution"..... I'm from Jersey.... but DAMNIT MAN!!!!! I love the South! lol

They will check under the car with their little mirror. Then they will fine u. Go to a private garage and get it done if u can.

Or you can go to little garages and throw the guy $50. I know of a couple places that will do this.
