Kid from my school just bought a beat up turbo'd del sol, went to a shop to have some work done, and ended up getting sponsored by them (getting brand new 3 inch exhaust, turbonetics turbo kit, etc. etc. the whole 9 yards and will be racing for them). He told me he will be getting 350hp to the wheels, and his car, obviously, is very light. Do you think I can take him from a dig (Mach 1 w/ Nitto 555 Drag Radials and some boltons)
Anybody know how much torque he will be putting down with that turbo kit?

350 hp in a del sol must feel pretty crazy.
My wifes got a turbo bug with about 220 to 230 Hp and its one of the sickest lil cars We've owned.
No top end but the little car is insane on take off.

So I wonder what a 350 Hp del sol would feel like off the line

If the kid can drive( get a FWD off the line) you wont beat him, power to weight would be killer in a car that weighs so little..

i dont' know if i believe the 350hp. i think he's just pulling that number out his ***. del sols are sleds

A del sol can make 350 to the wheels, not a huge fan of hondas but Ive rode in plenty that had 300-400 whp, and they are fast!

but it takes anything and everything to get them that high. do you really think someone is just going to get a full sponsership just like that? it doesn't come easy

The right motor set up and the right turbo it will make 350 whp easy.....

It's possible to get those numbers out of that car but VERY,VERY difficult and unlikely. Don't believe everything this kid tells you. Those kind of numbers on a 4 cylinder take months of planning, building and tunnig. My friend has been building a turbo H22 on his prelude for like a year and is nowhere near those numbers. (By the way the H22 is a 2.2L and the del sols have a little 1.6L)
