Default MS emissions

Already posted this in the Gen. Tech but nobody ever ventures there from the 4.6 section so ill post it here...

I am down at college and dont plan on driving the stang back home due to how long of a drive it is. I am now going to register my car down here in MS. The DMV website says that they do not require smog or emission checks, just the standard general inspection. Does this mean that I can finally get an O/R mid pipe and not have to worry about anything besides maybe a sound ticket or something? Sorry for the ignorance, im from VA which has every emissions and smog law possible.
