Default Used SCT programmer

if i bought a used SCT X-CAL 2 and it was vinlocked would i be able to do anything with it until i had it sent back to SCT to be re-programmed? thanks.

i thought mabe you could do something. if i had trouble code i could read them atleast right?

also, say i send it in and get it retuned for my car. then after a month or so i get 3.73 gears for example. do i need to get it retuned again or can i just do it manually through the hand held X-cal 2

yea should be able to do that, but yea until you get it unlocked from sct (150 bux) or you send it back to the seller to fix it it aint worth much...

If they don't have a lock on the tune and all then you should be able to go in their and adjust your parameters

ok thats what i thought. i got one for $100 and once its retuned($150) it totals about $250 which is nice for me. i think im supposed to take it to an sct dealer and have them send it in to sct right? i live a few hours from the actual sct warehouse-would it be better to go to them and have them do it there? do you think they could give me a more presice tune with my car right there when they do the tune? thanks.

cool. do i need to ask whomever does my tune not to lock it or something? thanksalot, im trying to learn as much as possible about it.
