Default shortys.....

are shorty headers a waist of money or should i save up and get l/ts and a shorty h?

i agree LT all the way.I got the bbk lt and x-pipe and i really like them.Was a pain to put in but well wirth it to me.My friend has a 99 cobra and he would beat meby 5 or 6 car lenghts.Then i did the swap and now i stay at his door the hole way

Install shorties, then weld a T3 Flange on and bolt up some hairdryers. Other then that, stay with Long Tubes if you want any power gains.

if i buy a bbk shorty o/r h pipe later down the road can i buy high flow cats and just bolt them up to it or do i have to buy a catted h to start off with?

take that money and put it into gears, or a handheld tuner.
those would definitally be worth it.

Headers are the single biggest bolt on power adder there is. Handheld tuner = waste. For $400? And what - 10hp? You could buy Lts for not much more, and get near double the power......
