Default TR 3650 fluid change-- heres what I did.

Ok, I pulled the shifter and drained the fluid andrefilled through the top of trans. I filled an empty 1 galloncontainer with the old ****. Then I took the new synchromax and filled up a clean identical 1 gallon container with the synchromax to the exact same level as the old ****. This way I got the exact amount back in as what came out. The reason why i`m posting this is because people have been asking about the right amount to put in the transmission and this is a perfect way of doing it.

3.2 qts. (3.0L) is what Ford and Tremec recommend, per TSB 14-15-6. However unless you are having problems it doesn't matter--the original spec in 2002 was 4 quarts. I filled mibe with 3.2 qts of Royal Purple Synchromax about 3k miles ago and both the 1-2 and 2-3 shifts are much less notchy (1-2 is still different than the others though)...

I haven`t had any problems at all with shifts feelin notchy ever. If I notice any difference, I can always drain some out to see if that helps, but so far everything seems to be good.

i put in around 3.2q of mobil 1 synth atf, i did it at the same time as the mgw so i didnt notice a difference from just the fluid. i was to distracted by the shiny new shifter.
