Default OMFG SHIFTER DEBATE!!! WOOT!!!

Me consider new shifter...Vote for the best shifter and pleeeease STATE WHY. If another brand sucks state why too. I included descriptions to your liking

B&M Ripper Shifter:

"Demand the B&M Ripper! Built around a stainless steel bolt-on stick, the Ripper features a billet aluminum housing for awesome strength, adjustable stops to prevent over-travel, improved geometry for quick shifts and short throws, and adjustable gate springs for individual tailoring. Works with your original console boot. "

Hurst Billet Plus Shifter:

"Much improved short throw shifting and self centering alignment to guarantee 2nd to 3rd shifts. Adjustable gear stops. Strong billet Aluminum design. Direct bolt-on replacement. Accepts factory and aftermarket shifter. "

Pro 5.0 Shifter:

"Put some power in your hands. 2nd to 3rd Offset mechanism that makes shifting to 3rd a breeze. All components are manufactured from superior-quality billet materials so they will last forever. "

Steeda Tri-Ax Shifter:

"Steeda re-invents the Short Throw Shifter. Most comfortable hand position of any short throw shifter. Two position adjustable height. Exclusive BootGuard which prevents damage to factory rubber inner boot. Adjustable positive stops. CNC Machined from Billet 6061 T-6 Aluminum. Includes Tri-Ax Handle. Made in the USA!! "

I chose Steeda because its the most comfortable of them all (to my knowledge). I don't know much about Hurst or B&M though but compared to the Pro5.0 its alittle bit longer throw and more comfortable.

Compared to my stock Saleen short shifter the Steeda was a huge improvement, short solid shifts, and no more missed thirds.

MGWLTD 45% reduction (1-2 use to be 4.5" now is 2.5"), adjustable stick position. Little pricey but that's what X-mas is for.

i have a tri-ax and I am happy with it. I like when a company says how strong their shifter is. Do you know anyone who has actully broke a shifter by bending or cracking it.

I test drove a '03 Cobra with the Steeda Tri ax and I didnt really like it because the handle was set to the top setting and the know almost stood above the raido controls which made it a really long throw. I bought the Pro 5.0 because its such a short throw. I have only missed third a few times with it compared to the numerous times with the stocker!

When going from stock to a short throw, I mentioned the Pro 5 to the tranny tech at the Ford house where I bought my Mach1, and he told me he had had some problems with the Pro 5 and suggested the Steeda Tri X instead. Well, I didn't question his expertise, so went with the Steeda. I love it, because of it's crispness. I too don't miss 3rd anymore.
