Only if the install sucks.

lets just get all your questions out of the way right away (since nobody can apparently use the search function lol):

Get either 3.73s or 4.10s. the RPM on them isn't that much different between them.

They won't whine if properly installed. if they do, the install is wrong and you need to get the shop to redo it as its going to destroy the rearend (re: use a mustang performance shop, not a dealer).

They won't reduce your top end, more than likely it will increase.

MPG will not be that badly effected IF you keep your foot out of it. Most people hardly see even a 1 MPG drop.

There are basically no downsides (other than a small MPG drop) to doing gears. You will also need something like a handheld or a speedcal to fix the speedometer.

You must have been asking a whole bunch of douche bags. If your gonna get gears, go 4.10's, alot of guys who went 3.73's are kicking themselves for not getting the 4.10's. My car came with 3.73's so I'm gonna just leave them. A Diablosport or SCT handheld tuner can recalibrate your speedo.

Don't forget about 3.90's or 4.30's- there are a TON of threads about this... 3.73 vs 3.90 vs 4.10 vs 4.30... If you're staying N/A and not planning any nitrous or anything - i'd say to get 4.30's... but search the forum for the gear threads... trust me they're out there.
