Default smoking, need help bad!!!!!!!!

Love the site guys/girls. I just rebuilt my motor, new everything. had the heads done by a local shop. He did a valve job, resurfaced and everything. problem is when i start it, it smokes andwhen icome to a light and sit for a minute it lets out a little puff, idles it smokes bad, but goes away going down the road. I had valve seal problems before. I know fora fact that he used the seals out of a 32 valve motor and not the 16 valve. Are there any differences in the two??

when my uncle hydro locked his tarus, he got a new engine, it smoked for a little while because the block was soaked in oil during delivary to prevent rust..it was just the oil burining off

i dont know if yours is the same...doesnt sound like it is, just throwing something out there

i have actually had the motor apart twice in three weeks. first time i thought it was my bad and i got the rings in wrong, so i got a second new set. Big surprise, not the rings. It is bue smoke, and definitly smells like oil. He said he didn't have the 16 valve seals in stock, so he used the 32 vale instead of waiting for the right ones to come in

well hopefully they arent leaking. i know some parts are soaked in oil when they are shipped, but it should have burnt off rather quickly. as long as it doesnt smell like burning metal (you war veterans know what im talking about)i wouldnt freak about it. But if it doesnt look like the seals are leaking, id try to run some seafoam through it to clean everything

when i took it apart the second time, the pistons where soaked with oil on top. sorry should have mentioned that before. That was after 600 miles. I just went through a quart of oil in 70 miles. Yes I said 70!!

I had the same problem, but I pulled my motor back out at 350 miles and my motor was using a qt of oil every 90 miles. I also had some noise (possibly valvetrain related). I should know this week what the problem is.
