Default Fuel Pump on 96 GT

I just had a fuel pump go out on a otherwise stock mustang gt ( 1996) model... I don't really want to go back stock, but will a Walbro 255 or another similar pump do the trick without any other modifications. Is this a returnless or a return fuel system stock...i think it is a return fuel system due to what looks to be a fuel pressure regulator on the passenger side of the car( near the fuel rail ) but does anyone know for sure.

Ok....so what set up are you going to go with. Also, do I need a 255 or a 190 or what? I guess being as all the excess fuel is routed back to the tank then I really can't go too big correct? I am going to retain my factory regulator for now on this car, but once I spray it I suppose I will need to go with an adjustable.

You shouldn't need a 255 unless you are adding forced induction and a bigger injectors. Even with Nitrous the stock pump is fine. Why the desire to go big?

Because I know myself and I can't leave anything close to stock. This is my third stang, and I have said at the begining of all three that they were going to remain stock ( I have another toy for the fun) but they haven't, and not even close. I have built one all motor and on F/I. This one is destined for the same status eventually. Also, a walbro 255 is like 100 dollars right? Our replacement's are like 130....so that is why the big. I wan't to be bigger than stock...larger injectors are in it's future....somewhere at least. If I am going to drop the cash I better just go big. Also, I need some help...I need the website where someone can find our stock pump, one where you can find a walbro type pump, and one where I can get a Adjustable FPR for the cheapest possible. I have a store that price matches so this will help huge..... I am planning on installing it all this thurs, along with big brakes and a pro kit.

You want to go with either a 155 or a 190lph set-up. The stock will support up to 400hp anyways, but becareful with those aftermarkets because they tend to make crazy noise! I don't think the Wahlboro's are terrible, but there is a company on ebay that sells a pump for $68 that gives lifetime warranty and claims no noise! They have excellent feedback, but you'll have to see what you can find. Also while you have your tank down, check your filler neck as they tend to rot out just above the rubber boot that has 4 bolts from the underside. It doesn't allow the water to drain properly. My car is mint and it's kinda on the rough side!
