It's not that hard to install, it just takes time. A lot of time. :D

RE: bbk shorty instal?

Yes, if they wil;l bolt up to your factory mid pipe, then of course thy will bolt to your aftermarket one, the aftermarket mid pipe boltd to your factory exhaust manifolds , right?? So, vice versa

It's been said ,and some say proven, that shorties aren't worth putting on a car. They take about as much time as LT's to install and give very little or 0 gains.
If your going to install headers get LT's or mid-lengths.

would it effect the exhaust sound at all???

It's not hard. If LT's aren't in your budget, shorties are better than your stock manifolds, so don't let anyone tell you they are a waste.

You need to call local shops and ask. A reasonable price would be aroudn 200-300 IMO.

RE: bbk shorty instal?

Yea, all that about shorties being a waste is BS, I'm sorry but anything is beter than the stock manifolds, I plan on going with the BBK shorties myself in the future and I am sure they will compliment my exhaust well. Maybe I'll get a before and after dyno run to prove there not worthless. I think thesetheroys come from someone putting shorties on an otherwise stock exhaust, that would be stupid, However with a setup like mine, the manifolds are what is restricting the flow. So a set of shorties with my O/R pro chamber and SLP LM1's will be a great set up. I don't care what the nay sayers say........ By the way, I do agree long tubes are better for the most part, but no way are shorties "ueless".

Going from Richard Holdener's book,Building 4.6/5.4 Ford Horsepower on the Dyno,The FRPP shorties made a grand total of 4hp at 4,100 rpm and 5 ft-lbs at 4,200 rpm. That's not enough to fool with to offset the cost of installation. This is the only test I've seen back to back on an engine dyno.

RE: bbk shorty instal?

Chopper, you have a valid point. But, LT's aren't in everyones budget. Shorties can be purchased & installed for under $500...
