question For those guys with convertibles

K here is the deal my father in law has a 04 vert and he wants exhaust (mainly soundwise than performance you know to get rid of the stocker sound we all hate), he likes mine (slp o/r x with slp lm'2 but he thinks they are too loud, and there is the fact that he doesnt want to spend too much money. So i was thinking on flowmaters 40 series, they are quite cheap and the sound is good, so if anyone here has that set up (all stock just fm mufflers) i will love any input in loudness inside the car (top up), or if you have another suggestion it will be greatly appreciated. thanks guys

Had them on the wifes vert. Not much better than stock. But with the offroad H it sounds alot better.

I have those flows on my 01 Conv. with stock cats and all.I like the sound, it's good and loud at high rpms and a little throaty but pretty quiet for normal driving. As far as in car noise obviously it's more than a coupe, but I don't find it annoying at all. If anything, it REALLY just begs for me to get into the throttle too much!:D

I have a 98GT Vert, I just have magnaflows welded in. Sounds nice and deep, not real loud inside. Just a little louder than stock, except at about 2300rpm with moderate throttle, it gets just a touch louder inside. Light or heavy throttle and it doesn'thave the same sound. It's not real loud or annoying, just more noticable than stock. It's exactly what I was looking for, sounds like what he wants.. It's probably way too quiet for most of you guys.

I have LT's, a catted xpipe, and magnaflows.. and its pretty tame inside the car with the top up honestly... I would treat it just like it was a coupe... it might just a tad louder, but not much... I wouldnt worry about it.

The 40s are not bad at all top up or down, a little too quiet IMO. This summer I am going to put an
o/r h pipe on. It should come to life then. Go to Mustang Exhaust.com or there is plenty of sound clips on here.

*offtopic* I think all of the color fell out of your taillight or you got rear ended by a honda and it rubbed off.

DO NOT GET FLOWMASTER 10's*unless you have alot of money for gas. the sound even at idle makes me just want to get on my car all the time, they are by far the best sounding flowmasters ive had (ive had 40, 50 and now 10) but im getting about 180 miles to the tank [&:]
