Default fuel tank

I know the GT has a 15.7 gallon tank. So i've noticed even when I fill up when the yellow "low fuel" light is on, it only fills up 10.7 ish gallons until its full again.... does "low fuel" mean like 5 gallons left or what? Cuz my stang is a GUZZLER, (i'm sure the same goes for everyone else on here), so I always get freaked out when its low fuel and gotta hurry to fill up. So is there like reserve fuel or what?

Good question. The farthest I have gone on the low fuel light is about 20 some miles. It was scary but I was on the highway. When I fill up when the low fuel light is on I usually get about 13 gallons til its full.

There is a reserve that you won't get pumped through the fuel pump, so there is always more gas than the guage reads. Also, you can only fill your tank up 90%. And I thought the tanks were 15.4 gallons...?

I know what you mean, its weird. After 12-20 miles, it goes from full to 3/4 tank. And i'm like WTF?

Fords gas gauge in the mustang is the most inaccurate hunk of junk out there. When i went back to school, I drove about 100 miles and it barely moved off of full [&:]. When i say barely, i mean barely. Guess i was getting like 35 mpg or something
