I was installing my bottle this weekend and mounted the front bracket fine. When Iwas drilling the holes for the rear bracket I drilled through the trunk metal and noticed another layer right behing it and stopped drilling. Will I hit the gas tank if I drill here. See attached photo.

i don't think you'll hit the tank but take alot of measurements just to be absolutely sure, but why didn't you mount it on the passenger side instead?

Because my sub is on that side. I wanted to be able to reach it from the drivers seat. And so I can still fit my golf clubs. So I mounted it as close to the back of the seat as I could.

that's awesome...when you're at the golf couse you have to aviod the nitrous bottle in your mustang GT when getting your golf clubs
if some punk beats you at the couse at least you can whoop him on the way home

I dropped the rear suspension, as well as the tank to mount my bottle. It wasnt that bad.

I don't want to have to do that. Does anyone have a picture of a gas tank? I could tell by the shape if it wraps around the spare tire hole.

Yes it does conform around the spare tire and mold up around. The part you are talking about is the box frame that you drilled. The gas tank is atleast 2" from the top area where you are drilling as well as on the other side! You will be fine. You can get epoxy and glue the brackets down, but when time comes to remove them you'll have to grind them off! Your fine where you are. The tank isn't that high. Just look underneath and put your hand there and you'll see. I went through the same thing with mounting my Distrabution blocks for my amps
