Default fuel rail

on my 2000 mustang gt the service engine soon light came on and the code said that it is the fuel rail. i have had the car a month. the whole time i have heard a ticking noise from under the dash maybe from under the hood. i dont know if that could be what is causeing the noise. also i just replaced a the spark plugs about a week ago and i noticed that it was running funny after that. i had my boyfriend and his dad replace them. someone i work with said something about them needing a spacer. would that cause it to throw a code?

Default RE: fuel rail

The fuel rail itself should not throw a code unless somehow flow was impeded in it, in which case your car would run like crap as fuel would not get to the injectors. What is possible is that your fuel pressure is low due to a dying fuel pump which may cause this code.

Speaking of which, do you know what the code and description is?

Check out your coil on plugs (attach to spark plugs) and make sure they are on securely as well, this could be the ticking noise.
