Default Starting Issue

Hello to all.
I am new at this so bare with me. I have a 2003 Black Mustang GT Deluxe. I replaced the standard 17"s with black Bullitt rims. I threw on a set of Shelby looking silver stripes and that is all for now. This is due to the fact that Ford cannot seem to fix my problems. Well they fixed one. The clutch did not always engage, they changed it after one year of use and that fixed it. But there is one issue that Ford has told me they cannot fix, My Starting Issue. I think I have figured out when it does it, Let's say I am gassing up. I pull in, turn it off, gas up, and go to turn it back on. Sometimes is will not turn over on the first of second try. Ford has duplicated this problem and one of the many dealers I took it too advised me to prep the car before I go to turn it over. Example, get in, turn the key to the "on" position, put on my seat belt, take it out of gear and disengage the E-brake, and then Start the car. Now for the past year I have gotten used to doing this but it shouldn't be this way and it does not always work. And it is embarrassing. Another Ford dealer tried real hard to get the car to produce an error to get Authorization to change the Fuel pump. This fix has seemed to lessen the frequency of not turning over but has not fixed it. That last Ford dealer said that they couldn’t do anything until Ford puts out a bulletin. P.S. at the last dealer I got lucky and another Mustang GT was in for the same exact problem the same day.

So if another has/had this problem please respond because for is not very helpful.
Sometime I wonder if mod's might fix it or break it.
Thanx

I have the same exact problem with my car. My buddy works at a Ford dealer and says alot of their cars are notorious for poor fuel pumps. I suggest getting an aftermarket, higher flowing pump. Thats what I'm gonna do.

My car does that....but its a 96. I have to turn the key to the on postion. And let the fuel pump, put pressure in the lines (you can hear it). Then it will start up no problem.

I almost forgot, this all started 6 months into ownership. Thank you for the responses, I will consider an aftermarket product, but after the holidays.

and on a third note, the latest dealer who changed the fuel pump thought that it might be the computer telling the fuel pump the wrong thing. One day I might find out.
