Default Exhaust leak and mpg

Does an exhaust leak affect mpg at all? I have one nasty exhaust leak where my x pipe connects to my manifolds, and was just wondering if it is hurting my mpg at all. I will be fixing it sometime very soon with some longtubes...but right now it sounds awful [:'(]

I don`t think it would affect the gas mileage unless it was a really bad leak. The engine does need to maintain a certain amount of back pressure to run efficiently. Sure must be noisy though

well if it does not have enough back pressure its going to kill some MPG bc the engine is going to push more to try and keep the back pressure it needs to run the way its suppose to
