well you are right about the transmission. well for a T56. but for the engine 4-5k will get you a decent used 4v, but not a 03/04 motor with the SC on it. you could find a used Mach engine for about 4-5 and a used 96-98 Cobra engine for 3500. check out mpsautosalvage.com

I've already got an 03 with PI heads...btw, the mpsautosalvage.com site wants 12.5k for the 4v motor/transmission combo as well

I was looking at the SVT site and they have the 5.0 cammer motor with 400 bhp for 12k. Whats up with motors being so dang expensive nowadays? I used to go to the junkyard and pick one up for $200-300 bucks and be driving around in it that same day.

I watch ebay all the time for Mustang parts.This is the most expensive motor I have ever seen.
They usually go for around $6k(used) This seller is on GLUE
