what oil to run in my gt?
I just got a 2000 gt 4.6 5-spd,all stock . The car is used, so
im going to start changing all the oils(trans,engine,and diff.)
what will be a good oil grade and brand for the car. does anybody run maxlife semi?
by the way the car has 72k miles(not to bad for a 2000) TKS

5w50 Castrol syntec. Awesome oil. Keeps temps down and if youre really out hammerin it it wont break down or the oil wont turn into the consistency of water like 5/20 or 5/30 will. As for the trans and rearend, go with amsoil.

5w50? Sweet jesus thats some thick oil. Of course it will keep engine temps down, id be willing to wager in the cold it would have a bitch of a time reaching operating temperature. Use 5w20 if your car is low on miles and switch to a 5w30 when you get around 50-60,000 miles to help keep the engine parts coated a little better.

Mobil 1 5w 20 synthetic best oil you can buy and buy either mobil 1 oil filter or a K and N oil filter, frams suck, so do valvoline and motorcraft

Anyway, I use Mobil 1 full synthetic but I heard it wasn't actually full synthetic... idk someone posted on here saying that. I am going to try Royal Purple next time. I had my motor apart for almost 2 months so I will treat it to some Royal Purple.
