need help...
[align=left]hey guys, I'm new to this forum because my normal forum (mustangboards, under that name bcassette) has been down for some time. Im am in no way shape or form a noob.....
with that said, I need some help. 1st car info 03 4.6L, 5-speed, 50k, stock motor, cat-back is my only mod as of yet. ok, I just changed my trans fluid myself, I went to the tremec website and searched around, i know about the 3.17 quart TBS and I used conventional DEX III (valvoline) just like tremec said, I have 300 miles on new fluid. I keep up on oil changes and I dont romp on my car that hard.
Ok, now to the issue, today I noticed a whining noise occuring. I only hear it at take off and its not super loud. I kind of hear something at idle, but its not easy with the flows, espescially when i get over 2k rpm. the best way I know to describe this noise is this way. Think of a small toy car, the kind that you pull back on to make it move forward on it own because of a spring mechanisim inside. now think of the noise that occurs when you only push the car forward. the whinning it similar to that, but after about 2200 rpm i cant hear it (flows drown it out), but that doesnt mean its not doing it, but it could stop, im not sure. Ive done some searching and thought about the throw-out bearing, but everything i've read suggests that would be very loud, this isnt, but its there. so im not sure which way to go on this......
let the speculation begin.....

RE: need help...
the only thing i could think would be a bearing...but like you said, it would be probably be much more noticable and louder. i just had a bearing go on a work car and it sounded like a fire truck siren going off it was so loud.

RE: need help...
when I push in the pedal all the way down the sound stops, but its not the whine I hear when I take of. Its more like a light grinding than a whine sound, but very quiet. If i let off the pedal 1/4 of the way the sound comes back. but im confused, i've read that if you push in the clutch and the sound stops it should be the TOB or am I wrong on this?
