Im sure it did help some- but there is always (or has been for me anyways) a pretty decent avg gain between the first, second, and third dyno runs. I normally pick up a few on the second run, rest the car for 5-10 minutes, and run again with the internals still warm and pick up around 5-7 hp.

Did the car start-out with fresh "other" lubricants, or older well-used stuff (or didn't they say)--changing to any brand of fresh lubes will show a power gain over tired old stuff...

didnt say. So either they did the segment to show royal purple is actually good, or just to kiss the *** of a sponser, I dont know, just thought it was an interesting segment... and kinda random

I'm sure that was the impression they were trying to create--however unless they had loaded theengine up with 40W, and the tranny and rear-end with straight 140 gear oil, there's no way it would make that musch difference.Don't get me wrong here, I use synthetic in the engine (10W-30 here in Florida) and RP Synchomax inthe tranny, but there's no way that RP has any magic to coax an additional 8 HP out of a Camaro all on it's own (as compared to fresh dino or synthetic fluids of some other brand). Surely you've noticed that you car runs stronger after an oil change, using the same brand. Change the engine, tranny, and rear-end all together some time and you'll notice even more increase...
