save the cash and diy. it is worth it though. my favorite part is that i no longer have to worry about unwanted friends trying to tag along. i HATED having to scoot the seat up and try to drive.
anywho, what i did was remove the seat, back bracket, head rest, seat beltsand the tar crap on the floor. then i painted the floor to match my carpet and put a piece of carpet on the hole. looksalrightandits little different.

yeah i was one who did it cuz i liked the look and like heavymetalmatt said you dont have to cart around unwanted people in the car......so what..i didnt do it for weight reduction..i just did it to do something to my car and i love it so there!

i think the spare tire and all the other stuff weighs just as much as the seats. . . i wouldnt take that out for extended periods of time though. i personally havent done it, but have heard of it being done. i only keep the rear seats cause my cars my daily driver

+1 on the hideous look!! i haven't seen a kit that makes it look good. but also +1 on the uselessness of those seats anyways. least in texas the people are bigger!

Or you could just take out the seat duct tape some cardboard in there and spray paint it black. Then you lose all the weight and you get that awesome "mickey moused" look. That is my next project. Go cardboard.
