wouldnt you benifit fom a full catback since it would upgrade your stock 2 1/4 inch piping to 2 1/2 inch piping?

not really, no point in spending 400-700$ for a full catback when you can have louder for 5$, and plus, you arent going to feel 10-15hp in your car so whats the point?

I dont want to sound too nerdy but is welding in some straight tubing instead of mufflers legal? would it make a GT ridicullouslly loud? would you gain or loose torque and hp?

No, but neither is running a O/R pipe either. heres what it sounds like http://s26.photobucket.com/albums/c1...t=DSCF1492.flv . And its Pretty Loud, a little louder than the LM 1 resonators on my car since im running a catted bassani x pipe which is better than slps.
