Trans. shifts to fast.
I have a 2001 GT with an automatic. If I were to purchase a controller could I go in and adjust the shift points in the car? When you drive the car around city driving it shifts so fast and ends up in overdrive way to fast. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks Bob

RE: Trans. shifts to fast.
With the tuner you can adjust WOT shift points and part throttle shift firmness, but not part throttle shift points, I know what you mean, so I just turn O/D off untill I'm on the highway or something

are you sure it's even in overdrive? city driving i usually never get mine in overdrive, i believe atleast, and that's what it's supposed to do, shift fast, it's an automatic. if you want to keep some control in the city keep it in second.

Your right I just checked. I bought this car and there was no owners manual with it so I am learning on the fly. I owned a couple of older mustangs but this is my first newer model. Thanks for the help.

RE: Trans. shifts to fast.
the button is just under the button you push with your thumb to take it out of park
take it out of O/D when driving around town. it gives the tranny a little more kick (torque converter lock-up) and helps keep the O/D shift. mine goes into O/D at about 30-35 mph if I'm just idling through traffic.
