Spark pluga and Engine malfuction

Well this is pretty wierd after a cold start up on my 02 5sp GT myspark plug pop out ofthe engine(put it this way it stood in place just seem to un thread it self). At firstI thought it would be an easy fix just to screw the sparg plug back in place because it was still giving off a spark. But asI was doing so my spark plug would not screw back in place I came to the conclusion that the threadwas striped since it would screw in.. Now my question is here is what could have made thishappened. My engine is tottaly stockI havn't over reved it also I havn't raced the car. Does anybody knows the what wrong the cause of it and about how much it would cost the get the car running again.

there aint but 2 or 3 threads to hold the spark plugs in but its really not that hard to fix
