QUICK! Choose my next mod!
Hey guys, I got some money laying around and I think it's time to get a new bolt on. Not looking for F/I or spray, because I'm on like a $400 budget. So I'm deciding on a performance mod, or a "just for looks" mod. I think I want performance, since my body isn't in new condition.
Now what to get...theres a late model Mustang specialty shop about 3 miles from my house, and they carry almost everything. So I'm not ordering, but if they don't have it, they will order it for me. These are the ones I'm looking at.
- Some brand of CAI
- An engine tuner
- 3+" angle cut tips
- New Cams...they will be very expensive to buy and install
- New cat back exhaust i.e. SLP, Bassani, or Borla. I want to keep my X pipe, it sounds good. (also costly to install). I ahve flows, but I want a new sound.
- 4.10 Gears---Nevermind
- New Clutch, mine is wearing down pretty bad @ 101k miles.---Nevermind
So I know there are TONS of brands of each of these but the shop only carries a certain number of them. But which mod should I go with?
Right now, I'm leaning toward the CAI, or exhaust. I would say 4.10's, but gas is getting more and more expensive.

Ok so it seems everybody is in line about the gears. But hows the gas mileage difference? I heard it comes down pretty bad...and since I'm only in High school, I need the mpg with my Mustang. If it's not THAT bad, I'll look into it, but then again how much is install?
Me and my dad put 3.55's in his Shelby Cobra together (which has a 95 GT rear end), but it was a pain in the ***. I can't imagine how much harder it would be on a Mustang. I dunno, I still like the CAI.
Yeah clutches are expensive to install, and I have brand new tires, so I don't need D/R's. Plus, I don't really race, so the traction would be redundant.
