um your mustang requires 5w-20 please dont put 10w30 back in, people say that dont matter but it does...at the dealer ive seen motors go bc of the wrong weight oils being used....use either 5w20 mobil 1 full synthetic or Royal Purple...i dont use anything but...and my car is running awesome...but they do say royal can show a little numbers..

very small numbers but royal purple does add some performance... and the thickest oil you should put in is 5W-30 in the summer and back to 5W-20 in the winter

The bearing clearances in our motors are very tight. This is why Ford states 5-20. I use Mobil-1 or Royal Purple and all is fine. Using a 10W anything won't help, good luck.

yes, make sure you use 5w30 or 5w20... for summer, you could use either... but make sure you have 5w20 for winter... i am going to run non synthetic 5w20 castrol or penzoil during motor break in but once its good to go, the mobil 1 will be back in...

Since I got my handy dandy manual out I can quote here like I did the gas! Yay!

"Use SAE 5W-30 motor oil certified for gasoline engines be the American Petroleum Institute (API)"

"Do not use supplemental engine oil additives, oil treatments or engine treatments. They are unnecessary and could, under certain conditions, lead to engine damage."

Notice Ford does not say "use this for winter and this for summer" Ford says "Use 5W-30" always!

I use Motor Craft 5W-30 Synthetic Blend... it is cheap.. made by Ford... and unless you have a highly modded high HP motor anything else is just plain not needed! When I throw on the ProCharger I will switch to Royal Purple!

If you want to upgrade oil go with Royal Purple! Good stuff!
