Default ****ty idle need help

i have seen many post that have been on the mustang forums and some do help and some dont but i have been to auto zone like three times and have had the iac replaced. i know yall are probabloy thinking that i cant drive a standard car but i do! its that some time at the light the car will idle roghly and it will spike up on the rpm's and it will drop eventualy it will just shut off. also when i took the car to auo zone the check engine came. theyt evn checked it out for me with their scanner and the code said that i was running lean. my question is what would cause the car to run lean?

car specs i have a mac cai, with a 80mm throttle and plenum, ford racing shorty headers, bassani off road x pipe w/ mil's, and flowmaster 40 series. nothing internal just bolt ons. neeeed heeeelp!!!

Vacuum leaks are almost always the cause of a lean code.

It'd take a hell of a vacuum leak to kill the car though, wouldn't it? I'm thinking fuel pump as well. Check your pressure.

some one at austo zone told me that it might be tps. what do yall think? how do i know if the tps is is no good ? is there a way to test the tps? also i am going to replace the iac one more time. to see what it does. and if the problem is still there then i will check the fuel pump. also last but not least how do i check for a vacume leak? what are some tests to check for the leake. any opinions would help. thanks for the input..

I had this problem and it was the maf. It had some oil on the wire. I got so maf cleaner from Kragen and cleaned it. It ran fine after that. my car also would die when I was at astop or coming to a stop andit would jump when it was running steady around 45. After I did that it runs great.
