Default 98 gt motor

Hey [/align]I have a 96 gt with 100k plus on it i found a 98 gt motor with 16k on it would it be easy to do a direct swap would it fit or would i have to change everything like the eletical harnesses and stuff[/align]thanks [/align]

that's a direct swap... but I would at least look into 99+ pi motors... might as well get some more power out of the deal..

I also found a a swap kit with everything need for the pi swap so i might buy both the motor and the swap kit and do the swap on the new motor before i put it in

the 1994-1998 are all the sn95 model of the mustang. the 1999-2004 are the edge models, and if i am not mistaken you can even directly swap one of their engines into the sn95 models they just came with the PI so you wouldn't have to consider doing that later

Not exactly. The Pi engines have a 43cc combustion chamber and 17cc dished pistons. the NPI's have a 51cc combustion chamber and 11cc dish pistons. the 43cc combustion camber(pi heads) with the 11 cc pistons of the npi short block will bump the compression a hair over 10:1. he'll pick up about 15whp more then a pi motor.
