Hello all. I'm looking to buy a used 03 GT and was wondering what are some good things to look for as far as options go. Are different axle ratios available? Trannsmissions? Any input is helpful. It has been a few years since my last Mustang & I just have not kept current with the options available.

There all the same.. 260 horsepower...302 ft/lbs of torque 3.27 rear end...I would get the coupe over the convertible...? more power and less squeaks..

Are you buying used? Just buy an 04 new, with the new GTs coming out you can get a killer deal. Thats why i bought my mach1. When you go in there remember THEY want to get rid of those old gts, so make the dealership work for you.

Im never buying a new sports car again... and I don't suggest anyone do it that intends to modify it. I paid $25k for my GT two and a half years ago... and now its worth 12k book... and I still owe 15k


If I did it all over again... right now today... I'd get a 2001 - 2002 for 10 - 12k and start modding from there.

I saw a red gt on our lot, not loaded but nicley equited for like 17.4. Not bad for a new car. No one else has had the chance to beat it like a red headed step child.

Thanks for the input guys. Ive narrowed it down to 2 cars in this area. both are '03 with 7,000 & 11,000 miles. One of them has the mach 1000 sound system which seems nice for an OEM system. Both are automatics but one seems to shift a little stronger than the othr. I don't know if this is a problem or just something I'll live with. I'm going to test drive both again tommorow.

well I found the car I wanted & made the purchace. '03 GT in true blue. 8,800 miles, Leather interior, mach 1000 sound system, $ 14,800 out the door. Just had it one night so far but I love it. Thanks again for the feedback.
