Finally!!
Well I have been waiting and waiting for my CEL to come on after I installed my o/r H about two weeks ago. So when I get home I run the code and I get a P0420 which is Catalyst Sys Efficiency Threshold (bank 1). Is that the normal?? I turned it off so my car should be running right, now? I also got a P1000 which is just it needs more driving time to check for more problems. Will I later get another code, cause it can also throw the same but in bank 2, whatever that means. What about a Catalyst Sys temp sens. What do all these mean? Basically that I have no cats LOL. Just wandering if these are the normal codes being thrown. Thanks

RE: Finally!!
You can turn the Light off but your computer will try to compensate for the lack of cats and you'll be runnin a lil rich..... Get some Mil Elliminators or use the tunner to "tell" the car that there is no cats on her.

RE: Finally!!
I don't think my tuner can tell it that there is no cats. I just have the ****ty superchips tuner (time for an X cal)All I can do is turn it off. I can tell that my car is running a lot richer since the new midpipe. I can't even clean the inside of my SLP tips, you know the double walled part, without it turning really black and that is just a day of driving. Is the only way to fix it by getting it dyno tuned?

RE: Finally!!
I was wondering if this was a little weird?? Today I threw the exact same code. I erased it yesterday but then got it again today. I erased it again today so we will see if I get it tomorrow.
Anyone got an answer how to lean out my car since it is running rich?

RE: Finally!!
Do you have the MIL eliminators hooked up?
The P1000 code means that it hasn't finished a drive cycle. Every time you clear the P0420 code you will delete any portion of the last drive cycle that you had stored, so you will be starting a new drive cycle. The fault code is not going to clear itself, or fix itself.

RE: Finally!!
Are you kidding me? The rear o2's need somthing plugged into them. You see all the birds dropping as you pass them? That is from the free flow pipes. Kidding, I am no tree hugger but we should all attempt to do our part.
And no the codes will not clear themselves, they will keep coming up without the MIL eliminators.
