In Massachusetts, State regulated Repair/install work is just over $85 an hour, so don't feel so bad.. That goes for changing spark plugs to overhauling engines..
It differs from state to state, and job to job in some locations...

the install is easy. Do it Yourself. If you are afraid you cant do the springs go to auto zone and get a spring compressor. its like 70 bucks to rent and you get your money back when you return it

Spring compressors are good, but can be a real b-tch to hand crank down tight enough to be able to remove them.. If you have air tools, this makes life easier..
I've used logging chains w/ large hooks before (the kind of hooks you would use for a trailer while towing), and attached them to the springs while the car's weight compressed the springs.... I don't necessarily condone this method though, since I've said before: Coil springs hold enough kinetic energy that can kill a person, or seriously injure them, or even destroy property/your car..... Use your head..
