Default Headers...1st mod???

Would it be a bad idea to get the headers before the exhaust? Will I notice performance differance with headers as my first mod?

unless you get shorty headers you will have to get a new midpipe also. You get the most power increase from long tube headers. Most people tend to start with catback, CAI, or midpipe as their first mod. If you plan on getting headers, you'd be best getting the headers and midpipe at the same time just so you don't have to buy another midpipe if you get the midpipe first then later want to put on LT headers. Just a suggestion though

yeah depends on what headers your putting on. short tubes yeah its fine, still restricted by the factory stuff, but a small increase will be noticed. id say hold out for the long tubes and get a mid-pipe same time.

just my two cents

Well check out this link...everything on this link is what I want to get but not sure of order because of cost. http://www.rpmoutlet.com/musv8basxheader.htm Im looking at these headers and the basani x pipe with cats, only substitute would probably be the exhaust, which i will probably go with magnaflow or flowmaster american thunders. Whats do you think of that.

The sum of doing both mods at once is greater than doing each mod individually, hp wise.

i wouldnt do headers or midpipe first. get gears and a CAI, and maybe a timing adjuster or U/D. i wouldnt buy anything for my exhuast unless i knew exactly what i wanted and when i had all the pieces to do the full exhaust at once, the install will kill you if you go piece by piece

I did my full exhaust all at once, it was my first mod - and one of the best.

IMO, headers should be your last mod. Broken down on a cost per performance basis , you best mods are suspension, mid-pipe, sticky tires and a good tune. Now I'm basing this on drag strip performance only. If big dyno numbers float your boat then it's a different story, get the longtubes . I'm still running factory exhaust manifolds and weld-in mufflers if anybody cares.
