I've heard good things about the Stage 3 and stage 3+. I'll be putting one in as soon as this stocker craps out.

yea im the guy that had the issues with the spec clutch. It was horrible. Like you said it was either in or out. No slip whatsoever. It was horrible for a daily driver. It chattered so bad and I got this foul smell whenever taking off and parking. Not to mention my TOB went within 2 weeks. It was the worse POS I ever seen. I went ahead and got a stock 03/04 cobra clutch and couldnt be happier

I have a spec stage 3 in mine.. and its not just strictly an on/off type clutch.. it has a little slip point and its not bad driving around town as is. It takes a while to get the hang of the slip point and you look like an idiot the first day or two, but after you get used to it you can take off like you normally would.... just have to be really slow and light on the clutch pedal or it'll flat out grab.

And I have almost no chattering out of mine at the moment.. its not as smooth as a stock clutch, but there is not noise when engaging/disengaging, the car doesnt jerk/vibrate.. once in a while I do get a little bit of chatter when the car is cold and its cold outside.. but after it heats up its gone.

It all depends on how its installed and how the cable is adjusted, etc.. same clutch in 2 different cars can feel completely different depending on how it was installed. Improper installation or even something minor like getting oil/fluid on the pressure plate can cause lots of issues.

A friend of mine got a stage 3 Mcleod for his stock '96 TA. The guy that installed ittold him it wouldn't be a good idea unless he was doing a lot of upgrades. Needless to say the car would shudder and shake all the time.

I have a king cobra stage 3 HD clutch in mine. The guy before me put it in. I love it and will never be able to eat it up with just the measly 300-400 hp im making. I think its over kill for my car and its a PITA becuase its so stiff but you get used to it and i love it when im racing. . .
