Questionable about gears!?
I haven't had my Cobra very long and have done some small changes. I am planning to put in a Vortech s/c in Sep, but would like to see some faster times at the track. I want to put in a set of 4.10 gears, but am not sure if I will see much of a change. There is a shop here that will get all the parts and put it in w/ a hand help tuner for about $800.00.
I just want to know if it is worth it, and if it will help as well with the s/c? Thanks for your input.

RE: Questionable about gears!?
Gears make a HUGE difference. To dissect that cost, look at it this way: $400 for a tuner (SCT or Predator), $200 for gears, that leaves $200 for labor cost. If they are tuning the car for the gears, its a good price.
I just got my gears and tune. Heres what I paid total:
XCal II: $225 used from here
FRPP 4.10's: $195 from Brother's Performance
Install: $300
Tune (From installer): $75
Total: (lol) $795
It was totally worth it.

RE: Questionable about gears!?
I saw that most of the guys over at SVTperformance.com are going with 4.30s or 4.56s on their NA snakes. You should see a 2/10ths drop on your et's w/ 4.10s. If you're really going SC I'd go 3.73 to avoid a shift to 5th before 1320. You'll thank me later....
