It all depends on how it is maintained. That is a lot of miles for a 4.6. I wouldn't buy one with that many miles on it if you plan on modding it. I have heard of Crown Vics going that long, but it is at the end of its life for sure.

I would plan on stuff going wrong, but you have to with every car. My car has 13k miles on it and the PCM just went. Replaced free, but I am always expecting something simply because it is a car.

Anything can go at anytime. It's just a matter of when. Instead of rebuilding, look for a complete engine. You can buy a PI engine for around $1,000. I think I know what car you're talking about. Project OrangePeal, right?

I'm just at 100k and I've had zero bad problems whatsoever. Knock on wood. Its all in the maintenance, and how it is driven on a daily basis.

i have a 4.6 stock shortblock if it does need one.. i reccomend new piston rings though.

if i was you, i would compression test it and such... see how much wear is inside the motor and how its holding up
